Siemens DT-135WP as well as the DT-200WP are of the rate-compensation / fixed-temperature type sensors; Designed for use with either standard Fire Safety systems or other commercially available fire-alarm systems.

When subjected to a very slow heat rise, the tubular shell and the interior struts lengthen at approximately the same rate. Each thermal detector generally consists of a tubular shell containing two (2), curved expansion struts under compression fitted with a pair of normally open (N.O), opposed contact points, which are insulated from the shell.
